BLUEBERRIES– Blueberries are a favorite fruit bearing shrub, giving us wonderful flavorful fruit in the summer that is high in antioxidants. Excellent for fresh-eating, pies, jams, and jellies. The plants prefer a soil that is moist, well-draining and has a lower pH (more acidic). Be sure to use a fertilizer suitable for acid-loving plants. We are carrying the most popular and successful blueberry varieties here at Dean’s. In gallon pots.
RASPBERRIES– Raspberries serve up a mix of sweetness and tartness and they can be eaten fresh, baked into pies, frozen or used in jams and jellies. To grow raspberry plants is easy given their hardiness. Simply put them in a sunny, well-drained area, water and fertilize them occasionally, and a bounty of fresh fruit high in antioxidants will be yours for the picking. In gallon pots.
STRAWBERRIES– Strawberries are an easy to grow fruit crop that will reward you with ample harvests for many years. Remove flowers and fruit the first year to encourage strong root and runner production, giving you larger harvests in the following years. Berries are delicious fresh, frozen or in jams and jellies. With favorable conditions, each strawberry plant should produce one quart of strawberries. Make sure that the spot you choose for your strawberry plants gets plenty of sun and has good drainage. As perennial plants, strawberries do not survive well in hanging baskets or containers.
